I need to dispute an item on my credit report. What is the proper wording or format I would use to do this? If anyone could help me, I'd be greatly appreciative.

Here are a few sources for sample letters.

Also check out http://www.creditboards.com and go to their forums area. There is a large section on letters.

It really depends on what you are disputing.

examples: Late payments, charge offs, bankruptcy etc....

Here is a website that has 20 different free letters you can download. It also has a 40 page e--book that explains tips and techniques to use.
