It has to be proven true. You can never prove something does not exist. If it is enough that it has not been proven wrong, then anything that anyone makes up is true. Ex: the tooth fairy, Easter bunny, leprechauns, flying pink gnomes of the 79th dimension, etc. The whole "god has not been proven wrong" argument is a joke to anyone with even basic thinking abilities.

Here you see different definitions. The Atheist will say is must be proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, that if it not proven it is automatically false. It must be able to be scientifically measured and tested.
The believer, of any faith, and perhaps even the Agnostic, will say you can't prove it does not exist , therefore there is a possibility it does. The experiences of people are enough.
Personally I feel there are things that science can't prove that exist.

yes. religious dogma needs to be proved true not to those who already believe it, but to ones self. Jesus condemned the religious leaders of his time on earth for being teachers of tradition not teachers of the truth. when looking at religious dogma one musts go back and look at when it wa first started and why, and all its associated today. before deciding for our self whether or not its truth or a lie.

I do not think dogma needs to be proved; I thought the point was that is accepted by faith. If a person chooses to believe, they believe.
People believe all sorts of things that have no basis in fact, not just in religion but in relationships, politics... You just have to choose your own mythology!

If it can't be proved true, it is false. Plain and simple, but churches will try to convince their customers otherwise to keep the money rolling in.

You do realize that if it cannot be proved true, then, by definition, is already false.
You cannot prove a falsehood.
That's elementary logic.

Love thyself, and you love God.
Besides that, there is no importance wether a person follows a religion or not.

I would rather live my life as if there is a
God, and die to find out there isn't,
Than live my life as if there isn't, and die to
find out there is.
