...that so many of the so-called Christians around this place seem to think that they convert us all by belittling everyone in sundry, or by being as B*TCHY as the next person. Does not the bible say to love thy neighbour and to be a living example of Christ's love for others?

So is it a case that the "real" Christians never enter this place, or that (as the zealots seem to have us all believing) that Christians simply have no respect for the teachings of their own religion?

I think all Christians are like that aren't they - all with some insane compulsion to add more sheep to their flock. Just what do they think they are saving us from anyhow - the ability to exercise independent thinking...what a sin eh??

Are you being convicted by some of the Bible quotes that are being used here? I'm sorry but you can't really blame the Christians it's the Holy Spirit working on your heart. See it's not the Christian's job to convert anyone. We bring the message then the Spirit of God does the conviction and makes the converts. Some times this process is a bit painful when God shows you what kind of person you really are.... Jim

I cant speak for eveyone else in here, but i can speak for myself and i am not trying to belittle anyone. The Bible says to spread the word of God with a firm heart, but also with love and endurance. Why is it that people like yourself try to knock the word of God and prove something false about it? It can't be done,
and will never be done! It's human nature to get offensive about something that you believe, or something that you think you no. That is why your getting offensive in your statement correct?

We could certainly ask the same question to Wiccans, Atheists, Mormons, Muslims, Hindus - - ANYONE.

Regardless of what people's religious beliefs are people are all different; they vary even though they might share the same denomination. This is what we call 'free will'.

Please explain what a "true" Christian is as I've only known 1 and His name was Jesus.

We all fall short from the glory of God. What is real "Christians" are in your mind...I know that I get much better deal than I deserve.

We cannot convert you...God can. We plant seeds and some are bad and some are good depending of the time...but God can make all wrongs right if you just let Him. He is on the job. I just run His errands, He is the boss.

It is because they follow a leader that rules them by Fear. Most go to church out of Fear that they won't go into Heaven if they do Not follow the church Minister.

Yet I do not believe that church is the way to See God. Fear is Never the way.

And trying to convert others is the oppositte that Jesus would want.

People Must focus on themSelf. And must learn about the Peace within there Heart, First.

By Focusing on oneself, one is Loving themself. And by Loving themself, they love God, for God created the self.
The world will take care of itself.

To love yourself, you love the world, and god.

How can one say "follow me" when they themself , are walking blindly into darkness? That is a Hyprocrite.

But to try and convert others to a single belief, without offering freedom of questioning the source of that belief, is an act of Fear.

Fear is the work of negative, of evil. It is the oppositte of Love.

If everyone Loved themselves, then the world would love itself.

This is why there are fewer and fewer people going to church, is because of the Fear that the church Leaders , place on those whom go there.

Jesus may have said "i am the way and the light " but he did not mean that there is only One way to Him.

His main messege is , to follow one's Own Heart. And use there Freedom to question anything and Everything, even the word of the Bible.

"knock and the door shall be opened"

it is not said "knock on the churches doors only, or the bibles doors only"

In fact, Jesus said that it is the Hyprocrites that pray in groups and sing out loud God's name.

And it is those whom do so in Private, and silence, that Truely Know and follow God.

Those whom do acts of kindness, without bragging to the mass, Know God , and is Seen Most by God.

Not those whom do a good deed, then let the church know about it.

Absolutely no One, will follow a Hyprocrite.

But they will follow a Light. And a light is the spark of Life. Life is the Freedom to move about at Will. Freedom is Love.

Be Free, and you will be with God.

Something to learn and REMEMBER,

Christians are people, and people make mistakes.

To judge a Christian as bad.....because they sin, is not the right way to look at things.

Maybe, that's the 'block' that stops some from becoming Christian.
But don't let that stop you. Remember, Christians are people. And people make mistakes.

The last statement of yours it appears is true.Religion should believe in attraction and not promotion. Imagine, would Jesus have liked conversions with the zeal it is pursued. I think it is few enthusiastic(or zealous) persons who consider themselves righteous and self-appointed apostles resort to such methods never originally intended by Jesus.Modern educated populace will never be taken in by such pursuits.

totally agree with your reasoning .
i dont understand and then they act like they are doing us a favor by expounding and enlightening us ???
yet they [not all of course] our bigots and hypocrites .
the universal law is love thy god above all others and love your neighbor as yourself and i believe living by and teaching others by example is the only true way ,you can not preach and yet not do what you preach ........
