Over the past 3 or 4 days my chihuahua puppy has started throwing up, she wont eat, and she has had a little diarrhea. In this short amount of time she has become VERY thing...I can see her back bone!!! Does anyone know what would cause this out of the blue??? All she is doing is laying around...she usually plays and chews...she hasnt even done that at all...
I just bought her like 6 weeks ago...can someone please tell me what is the matter with her????? Gosh, tomorrow cant come fast enough to take her to the Vet!!!!!!!!!

She may have eaten something outside...Yes, she does drink water...and 5 minutes after she drinks her water, she throws the water up...I thought maybe it was worms too, but wouldnt that be in her stools?? Thank You all for the info!!!! And I did call other vets and only 2 had an answering machine, but no emergency #... :(

the loss of weight drastically is dehydration. try getting some unflavored pedialyte from the store and force it down the pup. since it is a chihuaha, i would give it a dropper full every 2-3 hours every hour would not hurt to be honest. I would say parvo, but the virus usually kills within 3 days of the pups first symptoms. It could be worms , worms can cause a virus that will lead to parvo. GET to the vet first thing tomorrow morning if it is not too late, I would call around until you found a vet with an emergency number. Your pup may not survive until tomorrow.
Is it drinking water at all??? Is it going to the water bowl and standing in the water and not drinking?????? It is running fever and more than likely worms, but can very possibly be the start of parvo and it is CRUCIAL it gets to the vet IMMEDIATELY
No you do not necessarily see the worms in the stool. TAPEWORMS yes you do but if it is hookworms, round worms, or whip worms they will not be seen and will kill your puppy.
HOOKWORMS..........................
The symptoms of Hookworms are as follows:
Anaemia
Poor weight-gain
Apathy
Diarrhoea
they hook themselves to the wall of the small intestine where they suck blood. These types of worms are called Ancylostoma Caninum. Hookworms measure from an eighth of and inch (3 mm) long and live in the dog's intestines. They live by sucking blood from the wall of the intestines. There are many different types of dog and puppy parasites and most puppies are born infested with some form of 'worms'. The generic term "worms" is usually used to describe Roundworms - the most common of all the canine worms. Please note that the Hookworm can be carried from dogs to people.
WHIPWORMS.....................
These types of worms are called Trichuris vulpis. Whipworms measure between 1.75 to 3 inches long and live in the dog's large intestine and lives off the blood of the dog.
The symptoms of Whipworms are not always apparent but can include the following:
Anaemia
Weight loss
Apathy
Dehydration
Diarrhea
ROUNDWORMS.......................
Roundworms measure between 0.3 - 0.5 inches (7-12 cm) long and live in the dog's intestines and live off partially digested food.
Symptoms of Roundworms
The symptoms of Roundworms are as follows:
Anaemia
Dry hair
Poor weight-gain
Apathy
Diarrhoea
Bloated abdomen in puppys
Coughing
Immature dogs and cats that have large numbers of roundworms or hookworms may vomit. These kittens and puppies usually have as large potbelly. Hookworms cause vomission by inflaming the lining of the small intestine but roundworms just block the intestine by their mechanical presence
whipworms and hookworms are the most deadly and can cause severe dehydration and cause puppies to have the diahrrea and even bloody diahrrea.

Find an emergency clinic...and do it NOW!
"Infant" dogs have no fat reserves or intact immune system, and will perish quickly. If your child was ill you would be in the ER...Guess what? You baby is very sick and needs to be seen Yesterday!
Puppies have worms ,even if wormed once, and need to be seen by a vet and re-wormed .
Has your baby had it's 1st set of shots? If not be very scared as there are too many killer diseases that prey on the young and weak. Shots need to be given in a series of 3 - 4 times until the pup is 16 weeks old.
My prayers are for the innocent, and guidance for you to seek medical help for your pup.

sounds to me like she may have a blockage of some sort.. or she may have been poisoned. or accidentally got into some spilled antifreeze which is toxin to them but has a very sweet taste and they will time and again lap it up the signs for antifreeze ingestion are all of the above you have described except that by the fourth day they can 't lift their head up usually by this time it is to late .... try not giving her anything period no water no food until you can get her to the vet this sounds cruel but vomiting stinks and is painful wet a wash cloth to give her a few drops here and there allowing to drink large amounts appear to be more harmful than good keep her warm and do not wait to call the vet be standing at the door when they are opening up.. good luck with her hope all is well.....

Try calling some other vet offices, they will usually have an answering service that will direct you too a 24 hour hospital. I hope the pup had its shots...
Until you can get your baby in to see a doc, make sure she gets fluids and electrolytes.
This site says what medications you can use to ease the tummy, good luck!

wow, it could be some digestion problem.... maybe she ate something way before this all happened, and maybe something was wrong with it, or she was allergic to something she ate, and her system is reacting to it.this could be causes for the diarhhea, vomiting, and weight loss. and she's probably not eating because she just feels very sick. i think it might be some digestion problem, and it's best to get it treated ASAP!!! as soon as the vet clinic opens tomorrow, go straight away!! best of luck!!
