Knowing who you are. Where you are going. What your life is about. And those are all "me" things.
The best part is knowing the nature of God - that He is loving, merciful, protective yet challenges us and deeply desires relationship with us. He can do nothing other than love us and be with us because that is who he is.
And it is amazing to live knowing him and realizing all he is - more and more each day - that gives me my joy. He is limitless and I can trust him - so I love seeing who he is and knowing him more in my life.
Thanks for the "positive" vent.

In my opinion, the best thing about knowing God is knowing I'm a creation of God, because God had in mind a need for me, purpose for giving me life and blessing me to live life, and because God had reason for using me to serve as a vessel for God, in order to be a blessing to others as God continually blesses me, and I glorify, honor, praise, and thank God for ALL God's been, done, going to do, victories won...and just for EVERYTHING. The best thing is knowing that God's ALWAYS in control, even when people and things in life SEEM to get so out-of-control, knowing God's realness in MY life is the best, and seeing God reveal all God will, when I seek God about anything.

My friend,
I think the best thing about knowing God is simply that because of Him, we (human) still exists until now and for sure, upon death, there will be a second type of life not for everyone but for those who have belief on Him. But then this does not mean that those who do not believe on HIm will be totally ignored. There are two options for these kind of people. Firstly, they remain to be so ignorance to God and upon their death, all they need to do is to wait for the Devil to fetch their soul to go to, nonetheless, Hell. Or, secondly, they redeem themselves from their sins and God will for sure forgive them and upon death, they may have the chance to change their 'destination'.
Whether this is true or right, it will be much depend on how you and the other view it. After all, you were only asking for my own opinion.

I asked a similar question, so I'll answer this in a "reverse" way.
For me the best thing about "knowing god" when I was a christian was the "relationship." I was afraid without god my life would have no purpose or meaning and it seemed very chaotic to me. SO that would have had to have been the best thing.
Interesting question!

The best thing about knowing god, is knowing that you are protected by his Holy spirit. God is always there when you need him, and he completes our lives with joy, and love. God makes all things possible for you, even when it seems impossible, he gives us the strength, to feel empowered, the best thing about knowing god, is knowing we will have everlasting life.

It is the security in my faith. When people throw all sorts of junk and verbage at me I can turn around and say "Hey dad , what do you think about this?" Its a peace that I can not explain. Thats the best thing of all. Just "Knowing GOD through Jesus"
May GOD richly bless you.

Salvation.
Truth.
Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Having the Freedom to not follow any religion, (and do good anyhow), Knowing that He loves no matter what One does, as long as One Loves.
For as Jesus said," i am the way , and the light "
he did not say " the church is the way and the bible is the light"
Those whom love, is loved by Him.
