By "time warp" do you mean system restore? I've already tried that.

Try Avira Unerase (freeware) see if you can find the file you wish to recover. You didnt erase the file 5+ times? or this one for documents: http://www.bestfreewaredownload.com/freeware/t-free-turbo-file-uneraser-freeware-svxhibpd.html

First... Have you loaded ANY new files since then or made ANY other file changes.

If you have NOT done so, there is the possibility that you can recover the files with any one of the many "file recovery" programs available.

You need to know the file name, since in most cases only the HD "directory" listing was "removed" (and it wasn't really, just the first letter of the file name was replaced with a special character, and the space used by the file made available for use!)

These programs pull up a list of "deleted" files, (using the special character to find them), missing the first character. Put a new character there and try to "recover". If the file has NOT been overwritten, many times it can be recovered.

OR

If important files, STOP, take the HD to a "data recovery" company. These people are not cheap, but may be able to recover your files.

Well......I am sorry to say but your screwed. Unless, it all depends what you erased. You can go to start and seach and you can search for files or folders and see if your computer stiill has them in the drive. But if no luck from that then sorry, the trash bin is only a virtual trash bin and like at home stuff stays in the trash until you take it out and have the garbage men take it away, When you emptied it it takes it to the junkyard and well.......now-a-days you can still recover them by picking up all of the bits in the hard drive but law enforcement are practically the only ones that do this anymore. My name is Jeff, I know a lot about computers and, if you have AOL Instant Messenger feel free to ask me anymore questions on there. My screen name is Dunekiller555

System Restore

Please close all applications before doing this.

If you don't mind in losing any personal data, you can use System Restore.
Start Menu --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore

Select RESTORE MY COMPUTER TO AN EARLIER TIME.

From the calendar that appears select a bold date (you may want to select the date that is nearest to the day when you performed the mistake) and select one of the restore points.

Click Next (or something)

Windows will automatically restore your files and restart ur PC.

That's it !

Here are three free programs that promise to recover deleted files.
PC Inspector (http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/UK/welcome.htm)
Restoration (http://aumha.org/a/recover.php)
Snapfiles (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html)

System Restore restores system/application files only.

To fix this you must have purchased special software... Unfortunately for you it is too late. Sorry, you must have purchased it before this happened. The program backs up the hard drive and you can restore anything you deleted. Though this info is useless to you as it is now.. I am very sorry for you..
