Definately sounds like buildup of earwax, a problem i know all too well!

I find I have to keep at mine to keep it clear as my ears must be an odd shape inside. Using a product like Earex or Otex can help keep it clear or failing that a teaspoonfull of warm olive oil into the ear canal. (Not hot just not cold!) The idea is the disperse the hardened wax and let it come out by itself.

If this doesnt work then syringing is the answer, its quite safe and I find it strangely pleasent, the noises you pick up afterwards are amazing (change in your pockets for example) the nurse/docter will recommend that you soften the blockage for a while with ear drops so dont expect an instant cure.

On a final note experts advise that the largest thing one should insert into ones ear is your elbow. It's tempting to use a q-tip to ream out the mess, DONT. All it does is push the wax down further and any rough treatment of the ear canal just prompts it to create more wax.

Most likely ear wax. No need to buy expensive softeners - put olive oil in it and plug with a bit of cottonwool. You'll need to do this for a couple of days before syringing or else it won't work.

If this is the first time this has happened it could be ear wax.

They now have an OTC process to get rid of it.

wax impaction
see your M.D. orE.N.T. specialist
he can give you drops to soften the plug or do a bulb syringe irrigation to remove it
trying to unblock it yourself could cause infection and permanent hearing loss
