Nothing to do with worship. It is the cleanliness factor. Pigs are never clean. The pigsty is.....you know. Stomachs are full of parasites.

Muslims don't eat pork because of the things pigs eat, & the way the pigs lives (i.e in dirty environment) ..

Muslims don't worship another being, so the notion that the Muslims worship pigs does not arise.

The pig is a scavenger all right. It will eat anything, including feces. Additionally, their stomachs don't have the power to cleanse the impurities from their system, so the bacteria and such will show up in the meat.

That was why God said it is unclean to eat it, it's a health issue. However, in today's society, most pork comes from grain-fed pigs which enables us to enjoy the meat of the pig.

In today's world, the not eating of pork is an act of obedience to Allah/Jehovah, to reflect that even in your diet God reigns supreme.

it sure is funny when people say something that was decreed thousands of years ago, and then relatively recently proven to be scientifically sound, for exactly the reasons it was said originally (long before they could have scientifically known) to be a superstition.

now, some take their ACTION in response to this, to an extreme, and IMO thats a little silly,

but its scientific/medical fact that compared to say, Beef, Pork is a disgustingly filty, dangerous meat, even with modern production (not as much as it once was, but comparatively, still very bad)

I'm pretty sure the fact that they are omnivorous is also an angle on the problem with it, you can't be certain if what it consumed was clean.

where its not really a problem in any remotely decent or natural environment, with herbivorous animals.

It is part of a dietry system very common in the middle east, and actually based on good sense. The pig is a scavenger, rather than a grazer, so can contain a lot of parasites. Same reason crabs and shellfish are not eaten either.

Yes, it's considered dirty (probably because pigs don't eat plants exclusively as cows, sheep etc...they would eat almost anything) Jews have the same rule.

Because pigs are filthy animals, and we don't eat filthy animals.

"The medical science finds that there is a risk for various diseases
as the pig is found to be a host for many parasites and potential
diseases."

Some animals are considered unclean and some others clean in traditional semitic culture. Pig happens to be in unclean.

Silly food superstitions. I watch a Muslim wolf down three bowls of split pea soup and finally he asked what made it taste so good. When we said the word "Ham", he ran to the bathroom and puked his guts out. The mind is a terrible thing to waste.

I am not a Muslim but whatever their reason for not eating it, and I think it has to do with the uncleaness of the animal, it is probably best. I love ham and bacon and such but it is so bad for you as it is so high in salt content and cholesterol. Not to mention it is too hard for me to digest since my surgery.
