In all honesty it's time for you to get a new machine. Win 95 is barely compatible with anything these days and I'm not surprised it's struggling to work. Look for a good secondhand machine or reconditioned one if you can't afford a new one - it will make all the difference in the world and really change the way you use your computer.

It all depends on the version of Linux. It all depends on your computer. If your computer has windows 95 then i doubt the linux would work. If you have a lot of programs then try taking some off. I bet your computer is old and doesn't have much memory. I would still stick with windows but if linux is the way you want to go then ok thats fine.I hope this helps My name is Jeff, I know a lot about computers and, if you have AOL Instant Messenger feel free to ask me anymore questions on there. Complete fresh reinstall should fix it. Windows does degrade over time, slowing it down. This is because the registry gets too big, etc.

Whether it can co-exist with Linux really depends on whether you have enough disk space to accomodate both. Linux will fly on a machine that can support Windows.

Just wipe it clean and install Linux. You might want to think about a motherboard and processor upgrade though if your computer is old enough to be running Win95.

I would just install Linux. Save what you want to disc and re-format the whole thing.
