There are a lot of benefits to believing in God. A moral code, a social network, the comfort of prayer, a plan for your life, eternal life. Of these things, which would be the hardest to let go of.

And I know I'm going to get a lot of "NOTHING BECAUSE HE'S REALLLLLL" answers. But, this is hypothetical.

Roll with it.

I guess the thought of no afterlife would be the worst thing.

you can throw out a moral code...see "bible attrocities" and there is no morality in the felony acts there

god isn't one definition based on a few cultures

god can be many things...for some, people say gravity is 'god' because it's a seemingly immutable law where they are, just the astronauts are able to escape the pull

the best thing about god is not limiting a 'god' to a male being who somehow has kids without a woman

there is no past, no future we can agree upon, there is only NOW

being in the now helps take head out of the clouds and be of useful earthly good for yourself and those around you. doing charity to adorn yourself for a supposedly better place in heaven is not just mythological and pagan, but selfish.

letting go? already have.

The thought that my life has been wasted just living it. With out the faith that my thoughts live on after physical death, I would have killed myself along time ago!!! I mean what is the point to a life that touches others, receives touch, and then like a light gets turned off? Rules of religious leaders do not really interest me. It is the personal relationship that I have through the connection of my energy and that of "God's". I would truly miss that relationship.

Thanks for asking with out judging.

the worst thing for me would be that life is just a jungle and might is right, the same as prison culture Morality is decided on a case by case basis or a whim, whatever gives you the most advantage in any circumstance is the right thing to do.

Psychopathy would be a virtue.

Well, my dear friend,
My answer would be this. If God does not exists, so do we.
Without Him, we may not have exists like what we are today.
In other words, there will be no human or living things on earth and of course we will never be here signing in Yahoo! Answers asking for millions of questions as well as answering millions of them. I put it simple, if God does not exists, human and other living things will also never exist.
And this, I believe is the very basic thing that will never happen if we are going to think of your question.

God is the name I give to what really exists. I distinguish between appearance and reality. I don't know if that makes me a thiest or athiest or something else.

If God did not exist, neither would we. Fortunately, that is not the case. Rev.4:11: "You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created."

Let me put it this way, with reference to Occam's Razor:

If you do not believe in God, and there is no God ...
--then you gain nothing and lose nothing.

If you believe in God and there is no God ...
--then you've lived a good life but gain nothing and lose nothing.

If you believe in God and there is a God ...
--then you win everything and lose absolutely nothing

If you do not believe in God and there is a God ...
--then you gain nothing and lose EVERYTHING ... for eternity.

Makes the phrase 'come, and let us reason together' a bit more profound, don't you think?

We need to live knowing that there is someone who can help us in time of need. This gives us some hope as we cannot solve all our problems on our own. So the answer is if God does not exist, we will have no hope left.

Life would just have alot less meaning to me than it does right now. Then I would just be hanging on for loved ones and nothing else.
I am breathing right now because some higher being loves me enough.Without that concpet life would just be painful.

I tryed to answer this as honestly as I possibly could,I don't know why I am getting a low rating....

Eternity. Because I would still have lived a wonderful and loving life. I would not regret a moment of it.
