There are corrupt minds in every religion. Not all Shia's & Sunnis hate each other. A lot of them marry. Do not judge a nation by an act of a minority, let this be your motto, if you don't mind the advice.
This brings to mind Prince Chalres who could not marry a Catholic, why? at least some of us don't have this serious refusal.

It is not shites and the sunnis killing each other! It is Psycho Extremists killing innocents. They are not practicing Islam, they are practicing hate.

Those whom kill in the name of anyone, is worshipping the Acts that they themself are doing in the name of them.
It is an individuals Own acts that One worships wether they admit it or not.
For an act , show s full commitment more then any words .
If someone kills in the name of someone else, or somthing else, it is there Own action that they are taking, (instead of allowing that which they worship , to act. )
So by doing there own action, they show worship in themselves no matter how many times they may go to there "gods" church or listen to the priests.
we all follow ourselves, for we act.
We don't wait for another to act. We act.
Therefore , when someone says "im doing this in the name of god" or allah or whomever, they are showing hypocrisy.

They do it for the same reasons Catholics and Protestants get at each other's throats. Both worship the same got, but they interpret how to worship god differently. Somehow, that little detail makes it okay to kill each other. It's foolish, no matter who does it.

Christians kill Muslims all the time and we worship him too. It is part of the Human Condition that we kill one another even though we give praise to the same Almighty.

Because they argue about how Islam should be. One group sees the other as apostate, and that gives them the green light to slaughter someone in the name of Allah.

You know, it is difficult for me to remember any Catholic or Protestant blowing himself up to kill members of the other faith.
Sunni and Shias blow themselves up on a daily basis to kill each other. Islam...religion of peace?????
They disagree about the succession of the Caliph, or leader of Islam, at Mohammed's (a stone be upon him) death approximately 1,300 years ago. This is, of course, a wonderful reason to go out today and butcher someone (if you're Muslim).
