Pray before I begin writing.

Before I hit the "send" button, ask myself this question (posed by Oswald Chambers in My Utmost for His Highest): "Can I stand in the light of I Corinthians 13, or do I have to shuffle?" In other words, did I speak the truth in love, or am I just dead-set on making converts to my point of view?

Pray again before I hit "send." Ask the Lord if my heart is truly pure before Him and if the words I have written were inspired by Him. If not, I need to get right with Him before I respond to anyone else.

A site like this is cannot be considered useful for fostering productive debate, because everyone is allowed to hide behind the cloak of non-identity.

This site, like many others, is used mostly by children and immature adults to sling insults at those who may be depicted as different from themselves. Since there is little to no chance of "converting" or "enlightening" someone through this portal, the cowardly take advantage to slam others in a weak attempt to make them feel better about themselves.

No I try not to offend, come across as hateful, or seriously argue. Sometimes I get into a debate and when I find a post is taken too offensively I usually delete it. I also might post an apology but it depends.
In my opinion the best thing we can ALL do to make things better is to think before we post/speak.

I would prefer debate, but those strange people at Yahoo think this is a Q&A board, so you cannot "chat".

Sometimes I do get frustrated at people twisting the truth, or deliberately avoiding the question, and just copying out lines of verse. If I wanted to read the bible, I would.

I always try to see where the other person is coming from when they say certain things. When sarcastic or ignorant questions are asked I don't answer because that's when sarcasm and spite can easily creep in.
I also try respecting each person's belief even if I don't agree because who am I to judge they are wrong and who's to say I am right in mine.
A good debate is great if we can all respect one another for who we are.

No not really. There have been times when I will speak up a little about Muslims and that is not right. They see things completly different then Christians do. I try not to answer anything at all because I can't understand them. I will do better.

May GOD richly bless you.

There has been recent evidence of a born in brain dysfunction that makes people susceptible to religion. If one is a religious person he or she should see the lack of logic in religion and respect the freedom of choice for the rest of pack. Non-believers should also refrain from aggravating those of us who haven`t yet found a way to cross this particular disorder. At the end, we all die the same and as long as we don`t stone each other to death it doesn`t really matter. It's only a question of faith. So, i believe people can and should be able to debate and coexist despite their different opinions of life in general. To each his own.

Some people enjoy the give and take of a heated discussion, some shy away from conflict. It is as true in real life as it is on a message board. If something offends you hide it or ignore it, simple really.

The only time I showed hate is when I saw the American White Supremists (Nazis}{ or tirades against any religion or race, We are all God's creatures and I won't debate stupid people because we are here to respect and love good people. FYI I am Jewish

It's hard sometimes to not respond with hate or sarcasm to some of the questions. For me, it's a good practice in patience and the forcible act of love.
