Over the summer we bought one for my father's bedroom while he was sick. It was a 20 inch with a dvd player built in. I can't remember the brand - it was foreign with a name I've never heard of - but the picture is fantastic and they haven't had any problems with it. We bought it at Sam's club for about $450. The 15 inch version I have my eye on - its about $350. They also offered a 13 inch version, both with and without dvd players.

it depends where you live and how how much you want to spend.
i work and a upmarket tv and hi-fi shop and we sell the top ranges by two main companys figitsu and loewe they cost quite a lot but give great picture quality.
just be warned if you buy from people like sony and panasonic please view first in your own home because the picture can be a lot better in the shop that it will be at home. and if you buy from som where like sony centre be expected to install it your self.
