Nothing irritates me more than someone who writes or says " God Bless" To me it suggests insincerity and that you view your religion as a trend because so many people never add the YOU at the end. .
Try it: God Bless YOU. It packs a more powerful meaning, doesn't it?

Ahhh ... the pursuit of perfection. .. :)

I think 'God Bless You' is more personal, but the important thing is the wish for blessings. You could also use a similar phrase, such as 'Blessings!' ... short, to the point, carries the same meaning. After all, only God can provide blessings!

My personal favorite is 'have a blessed day!.' ... and when someone asks me how I am doing, the answer is invariably ' I am SO thoroughly blessed!'

This is what bothers you. People can say God bless to me or God bless you. The main idea is that their intentions are well meaning. No, it does not pack a more powerful meaning

I think so also. God Bless means they our blessing you. takeing it on themselfs to bless you. with God there somewhere.. when if you add you. it means may god bless YOU.If they add You, it is a prayer that may god bless you. if they leave off you, then it is really nothing.like they are just throwing god up in the air, True. you should mention this,, and ask them if they are blessing?,our is it that they wont gods blessings on you?.are just what?ask them.who our what it is they are calling on god to bless. the palistianians?. the united states?and I would like to say, That I wish you well. and that I pray that Gods blessings will be with you forever.

Ah, you've hit on one of my pet peeves lol.

I'm a perfectionist when it comes to language. After all, God created the world with just a word!

Cussing is another one that gets me, I know that people who curse are either too lazy or too ignorant to use the right adjective lol.

But I always swallow it down and try to remember that not everyone thinks it important, and if they are seriously trying to send a blessing, or if they have poor grammar or spelling skills, then I need to overlook all that and look at their heart.

Perhaps people say "God Bless!" and leave off the "you" at the end because they don't want smart-alecks (like yours truly) to say, "But I didn't sneeze..." Just a thought. But I don't think it's laziness or a trend.

I take it the same way whether someone puts the YOU at the end or not. Their intentions are good and you are the one that looks stupid (sorry) getting so upset about something like this.
