Can someone help me out with a really good hook ( opening sentence that draws in listeners) for my debate speech. I am AGAINST juveniles being TRIED AS ADULTS for this debate and i need help with a good hook.

Good luck on this one. With the ever rising JV crime rate, it would be hard to convince others that JVs should be treated differently. Many kids today are as violent as their adult counterparts.
If I had to do what you are doing, I would probably focus on success stories where JVs have committed crimes and turned it around later.

How about "If we are to be tried as adult when we are accused of a crime than give us the right to vote."
Demand suffrage! That should be an attention grabber.
I am generally against that too. I am tough on crime Conservative Republican but I do think you have to distinguish between youthful and adult offenders. There should be a nice crisp line between the two.
I am not upset with 17 year olds being tried as adults. Maybe not 16 year olds but lower than that I think they should be tried as juveniles.
That's also not to say I favor lenient sentences for juveniles. Anyone who is dangerous or has committed a violent crime should be locked up for a very long time.
