I'll be needing several car repairs in the next week or so and will be accessing my line of credit from Visa (using convenience checks) to pay for them all at once in the meantime. The convenience check has my name on it, but who do I write it out to when I go to deposit it in my bank account?

Make it payable to yourself. Or you can write the word cash. But using the word cash makes it payable to anyone so if you by chance lose the check anyone could cash it.'

If you are depositing the money into your account, make the check out to yourself. If I were doing the same, I would just make the check out to the repair shop for the amount of the bill. Actually, I would just use the Visa at the repair shop. If they won't accept Visa, I would probably look for a different shop.

Usually you would make it out to the person you owe the money to. In this case it sounds like you would deposit the money in your account and then make a check out to the other person. Just remember that those checks charge interest. So pay them off ASAP.
