the tv in living is #1 with box ..but this aquiring signal box will not go away..tried unplugging it and etc..what???need help..

call the dishnetwork pepople at 1-866-722-7500
you might need a new box, is your phonecable in ? It needs to be in so the box can update the hardware !!

HI Jackie,

My first guess would be that the satellite dish is out of position. Have you had any bad weather - or heavy winds? If so, this would be the most probable answer. On your remote, press the 'menu' button, then press the number buttons in the sequence - 6 -1 - 1 and this will lead to the dish pointing/signal check screen. If there are know white bars, or the area on the bottom is red instead of green, it's the signal. Check to make sure that your cable is properly plugged in and has not been disturbed. If you have somewhat of a technical background, you could go to the installation link below for more info to fix it yourself. Otherwise, you should contact a satellite tv tech or somebody at Dish Network.

this may be easy may be hard,check your signal first,go to the menu and push 611,you want to be around 100 on the 119 sat,if you are, run a check switch,if all are greenmtest it may be the box,if you have red x's you may just have a rusty fitting outside,try flopping the lines on port 1 and 2 if the problem stays on the same port the rec is bad if it moves to the other port,it's the line.
