The fact that we have little choice in selecting our religion make it funny that people think that their religion is superior to others.

you are correct there. i am a catholic, and i studied in a catholic school and it was always peace to mankind and love ur neighbor as you love God that is being taught in school. recently ive been attending christian services, and same teachings apply. i have an indian friend and he is hindi, and he says they are peace loving people. i have also met a number of muslims, mostly enterpreneurs, and they too advocate peace. i'm sorry to say this, but recently, i noticed that religion has become purely business. maybe thats why there is a fight over whose religion is the best. but at the end of the day, we are only under one God, and it doesnt matter if you are hindi, muslim, christian, catholic, jew or whatever. we serve one God and His teachings command us to love one another!

All the religions advocate peace.True
Most of the followers of religions love peace.Also true.
But some religious leaders,fanatics and the few boastful among the followers make the difference.
The Christianity and the Islam which have worldwide followers have many States to protect and proliferate their religion.But they don't relish to be peaceful minorities in India.and pump in huge sums of money to promote their religion and vie with each other proselytising in India,.prompting the Hindus to resist.
The Christianity and Islam which are better organised throughout the world must set an example in promoting Peace and Harmony among all the religions.

Becoz they are mislead by Fanatics who make them think that their Religion is superior to others. And in many parts of the world People of the same religion are killing each other. If people follow their Religions and Teachings, War and Fights would cease to exist on Earth .

Why do people not have a choice on their own religion? People should study and learn, in order to find the religion best for them. I could not accept the Christianity of my family and became a Jew. I had a choice.
If people did not fight over religion, they'd find something else to fight over. Power and wealth are the culprit, no matter what the excuse is.

Interesting question! I'm sure many think of this,too. Fact is...You DO have a choice; even if you go underground.(hide) God wants to be worshiped His way and His way only!!! This is were the controversy comes in. One should Not fight over it because one would/could lose ones JOY. And this is not good!
Keep in mind that the Divine Writings tell us that many will APPEAR to be of sheep-like (good),but are not pleasing to the Creator. So, How will one know who is approved and whom is not? You will know them by their fruit(actions) Important to pray alot while doing this search.

One word: pride. It is one of the most powerful tools that satan uses to divide us. Satan particularily targets the heads of the various sects of the religions so they become so corrupted that they forget the #1 purpose of their religion is to love one another and they instead advocate murder to their flock.
How many denominations subscribe to different details of their religion? Do each denomination share the primary beliefs? Sure! But Satan confuses us with details. Should you dance in church? Play musical instruments? Believe that the bread and wine actually change into Jesus' body? Must you immerse or is sprinkling okay? None of these kinds of details are important. But we forget. Our pride gets the better of us and we turn away from our brothers and sisters.

mainly because some of the people that belong to Islam and Christianity twist the words of the Bible and Koran to meet their own greedy needs.
How many movies have you seen where the Tem "God wills it" is used? Most of those folks have no idea what God wants.

All religions do not advocate peace!!!
Islam advocates Jihad, i.e. war against all people who are not Muslim. 'Peace' in Islam is a society where Islam is dominate, all non-Islamic people are referred to as 'dhimmis' and made to pay a special tax (jizyah) and be humiliated in that payment.
