I have an older Sony Projectiction widescreen from 2002, and when I'm watching a DVD through the HDMI/DVI converter I see picture grain, what is the best way to adjust my picture settings?

I try to put the sharpness down as said in one internet site, it did infact remove the grain but a new problem occuried the picture was fuzzy.

this TV is only able to display 720p and the picture needs work.

any ideas?

Also, heres the TV's model number it's the Sony KP-65WS500.

No Not even close. HDMI cables are digital and picture quality is constant through all brands of cables. If you want to get rid of film grain then you might want to use a noise reduction setting. it wont be perfect but it will get rid of some oft the grain at eh cost of sharpness
