As long as u genuinely have something to say and are truly interested in listening to the other person the time will fly by. I don't think it matters at all how long or short ur conversation lasts. If it's going well u may never want the call to end. On the other hand, if it's not going so well u may not be compatible as a couple. I mean, how well will u do face to face with this person if u can't wait to get off the phone with them?

Surely there's no hard and fast answer to something like this? You talk to ANYONE regardless of whether you're going to date them or not for as long as you both have something to say and are enjoying the conversation. That can be as short or as long as it needs to be.
Common sense, isn't it? :)

theres no right or wrong, but if you have to ask an online community, theres probably issues there....
just learn to speak to her, and have fun, dont talk on the phone too much otherwise youll end up running out of intresting conversation on the date.
just keep it real, treat her as a real good friend, until it can be more than that.

Until you feel comfortable enough for checking that person out in person. An alarm will go off in your head when this happens. I am always on the phone. Always. I even go to bed with the phone.

however long you feel like talking, when the conversations become more and more silent, you've ran out of things to say. dont let it get to that point.
