Associate member Institute of Engineers(ing), is what AMIE stands for. It was in London, before independence, but after wards they had two AMIE(India), AMIE(London/UK)
Look them up on Google or World Wide Web. Both are at the top of this screen.
I do think that they will give you a student membership, without exam, rule change from time to time. Find out from them.
They may have offices in many big cities so check the phone book also.
I am sure some of your professors may have AMIE or MIE, ask them or call your diploma Institute, they should know about the addresses.
At one time there were 3 exams,
Student Member Entrance.
Part 'A' AMIE (Theory).
Part 'B' AMIE (Theory and Practise).
All can be taken any time twice a year, but in the order, after qualifying by passing previous exams, or by exemptions.
You were Promoted to MIE, if you had qualifying experience and education, you needed 8 year of engineering experience, 4 years of engineering was counted as experience, and must have passed the final Part 'B' exam, there were some exception from the students entrance exam and part 'A'.
You may get one exemption from student Entrance Exam.
