No. Religion is the attempt of humans to reach God. Christianity is how God wants a relationship with us. It is not based on feelings which change. We can demonstrate that the Bible is divine rather than human in origin. These proofs are described by acronym MAPS. The manuscript evidence. There are over 14,000 manuscripts of the old testament and 5,300 of the new testament. Almost 800 of the new testament copies are before 1000 AD. Archaelogical evidence shows that the Bible is accurate. The more that is dug out of the ground the more the Bible is shown to be true. The Bible is accurate when it comes to Prophesy. Many of the predictions for Christ were found in the Dead Sea Scrolls which are dated older than 100 BC. Statistics disprove the idea that the very specific prophecies in the Bible happened by chance. The Bible was written over a span of 1500 years by forty different human authors in three different languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek), on hundreds of subjects. And yet there is one consistent, noncontradictory theme that runs through it all: God’s redemption of humankind. Clearly, Statistical probability is a powerful indicator of the trustworthiness of Scripture.

Religion doesn't make people feel better. All the atheists I know are pretty happy people. And if religion did make people feel better, then no, that wouldn't be a reason to accept it as true.

What you are talking about there to just accept a religion as true without investigating it, would not be a very good thing, It is a wise thing to investigate to se if in fact it is really true or not, as there are many that are not! Unfortunately not many people do the investigating and testing to see if it is true! And, therefore they may have a false sense of security

You're assuming that religion makes people feel good or better. I don't think this is always true.
Anyway, you believe that that has something to do with whether you can accept relgion as true or false based on it making people feel good.
I don't think one has anything to do with the other.
To those who believe in organised or even personal religion, it is based on faith not on acceptance. It has nothing to do with whether it makes you feel better or good.

It's reason enough to accept that it exists and has an impact on society. Otherwise you're paddling upstream. As for "true"...which religion are you talking about?

There are lots of meds out there to make you feel better but to really find peace and fulfillment in your life you have to have something to believe in. Jesus can take away your sins and forgive you of anything you have done. You must mean it from your heart and you must truly believe. Ask Him daily for guidance and He will send that small still voice to you to help you. I tried the melds and I tried to make it on my own but I realized nothing worked except knowing who my savior was. Today I spend time in prayer with Him everyday and although things might not be perfect it takes away the loneliness and makes the burdens I carry much lighter. Take up your cross and carry it. Jesus will always be there to carry you.

Happiness is a decision, a journey...not a destination.
I know what my life was like when I was walking in darkness. I needed God.
I have never known the peace that I feel. God has changed my life. We have the most amazing and intense relationship.
I know what I believe and I know the truth.
Religion is man's way of trying to reach God.
Relationship is God's way of reaching us, through Jesus Christ.
