I love France and their culture.
I don't understand why they call them smelly or cold.
French people are the friendliest people I've me, when you get to know them.Hmm,and their food...

Their language drives me nuts! English is not my first language, but you'd never know it if you spoke to me. And if you look at the posts above me ^^ (especially that morningpure person's) you'd see I speak it better than most native English speakers. But I cannot nail French. No way.

At least english has stops. You can stop after each word and people can still understand you. French is just soooo not that way. It flows and runs and you're left tilting your head, looking like an idiot, trying to figure out what they just said to you. And then after you figure it out, they can't understand you if you stop after every word. Frustrating.

I've been to Alsace, and I found it charming. But I couldn't understand what they were saying about me, so that might have had something to do with it. No one I met smelled, by the way. I think some people need to re-evaluate their friends and who they hang out with if everyone smells bad. I do wish more of the French spoke Swedish or English. And the food was much better than Swedish food, I'll give 'em that.

People are people. Their language and culture is a bit different from ours, so you might think their customs are odd.

I lived in Quebec, Canada for about a year, and I have to say, the people there were the nicest I've met anywhere in Canada, and I didn't even speak the language!! I tried though (and mangled it horribly) and the people were so pleased that I made the attempt and didn't demand that they speak english that I was welcomed with open arms. People would try to talk to me in french, and then when they saw I couldn't speak much of it, they'd switch to english to converse with me. And they opened doors for me (I was very pregnant at the time and gentlemen would trip over themselves to help me--nobody opens doors for you in Toronto).

You may hear of french people being rude and stuff, and sure, there might be people like that out there, but overall, that was not my experience. And nobody smelled.

French people are OK---------it is the French government I do not like. Then, as an American, I can also say the same thing about my country, it's people and government.

Well in general, french speaking people are just like english speaking or any other people.

People from France have the reputation of being rude but I don't know anyone from France so I could not say.

Great language, generally great food, Paris is the most beautiful city in the world, long history, generally nice people. Of course, you get the stereotypes as well, but they are only a minority. I am in love with French culture, might live there one day.

This is a hard question, forcing people to stereotype people. well I think French people are rather cold, and when all the american movies/programs are translated in to frnech, its really not funny, and they dont understand the jokes because their sense of humour is very different, school systems are kinda old fashioned with dictatures, and making students stand up at the board and solve math equations, the litterature is amazingly well, and the poems are amazing. the main science they are into in physics..

Having been there, the majority of the people smell bad, are rude and do not treat tourist very well. Having said that, there are also some very nice people that treat others different from them very nice.
