my daughter and I are working on a acience experiment. Can anyone tell me the difference between holding your nose and being blindfolded at the same time and how it effects your taste buds?

i know that if your eyes are blindfolded, and some one put a piece of apple at your nose and gave you a piece of peach or pear in your mouth you will say that you are eating apples.
i don't know the scientific explanation but it's probably the brains has to signals from sensory cells, one from nose and the other from tongue, the brain probably over-ride the tongue signals..

Ask yourself what senses are diminished when you're blindfolded....

and then think about the sense that is diminished when you hold your nose.....

This will tell you what sense the sense of taste is related to. Then think about how things are connected together.....anatomically.
