I would want to live in a place for a short while to know and feel the place and people before deciding which city I'd like to live in. The longest time I've stayed in a city away from home is Auckland, NZ. I guess it would be it. I love the little village of Devonport in the North Shore where I lived. Across the waters was the skyline of Auckland's business district. The walks along the waters were beautiful. I would in particular walk to Cheltenham beach. It was quiet. Gave me private time to sit and read a book or take a dip in the water in the weekends. There are plenty of beautiful drives in and around Auckland. As for the people there, most are friendly. NZ as a country by itself is so beautiful. The North island and South island are such a contrast. Every corner unfolds something lovely in nature.

Toronto, ON (Canada).

It's like a slightly smaller, much cleaner, more friendly NYC. Canada = more stable economy/jobs than the USA at the moment, and it will probably remain that way for years to come because of how they function as a nation and government. The place is more beautiful as a whole; the city planners in the Toronto area should win awards if they haven't already.
