There has to be a reason why she doesn't like him. If he's around her make sure he's polite & always says "thank you" and "ma'am" and shows her respect.

Why doesn't she like him? If he's a high school dropout, unemployed with no desire to look for a job, etc than I can see her point. This is a difficult question to answer without getting more details.
However, I'll imagine it is much more generic than that. I would sit down with your mom and communicate. Tell your mom to be bald-faced honest with you and tell you exactly what it is about your beau that she doesn't like. Then tell her everything that you love about him. Counter her perceived inadequacies in him with the truth. It's the best thing to do in the long run . . . communication.

Well I had the same problem when I was dating, my mom hated the girl I was dating. 11 years ago I married her, we have kids, and my mom still hates her. But who cares, she is an awesome wife and I love her and that is all that matters.
But your mom is watching out for you. Ask your mom what it is about your boyfriend she does not like and then evaluate it and see if she could be right.
In my case, I was the only child and my mom was the only woman in my life for years and this girl comes along and steals me away from her.

I know it is hard, but your Mom loves you like no other person can. She may have a very good reason for not liking your boyfriend. You might be smart to at least be cautious and keep in mind what she is saying.

you should talk to ur mom about this, ask her the reason behind it. Maybe by this you'll be able to solve the situation by telling ur bf to act they way ur mom wants!!!! Best Of Luck.

Mothers always think nobody good enough for there daughters so when and they want the best them so don't get angry with her she has your best interest at heart .Ask her why because after all she's older and wiser she may see something in him that you can't see.

My guess is that you are a young person...and so in spite of your desire not to do so, I think you should listen to your Mom...having been young herself at one time, she'll have insight into people that you don't have yet...
Trust her judgement...

ask your mom to have him come over fo dinner so she ask him question about himself.If she gets to know more about him then she might approve.Have a talk with your boy freind about ways he should act around your mother

how old are you? She can dictate who you see until you are out of her home basically, bring him around if she will let you so she can get to know him better, he should be willing to meet her 1/2 way if he wants to know you better.
