You only mention non-dairy products, so I'm assuming your're not a vegetarian. So protein rich foods, non-dairy, are: meat, fish, eggs (not really a dairy product), nuts and seeds, pulses, soya products (tofu, soya milk and textured soya protein such as soya mince), and cereals (wheat, oats, and rice).

you actually find protein in quite a lot of foods, but all beans, lentils, and eggs are good sources.
dairy products (excluding eggs) contain lots of fats, so pulses are the healthiest option.
now winter is drawing neaer, best way to cook beans is in chowders or soups. a bean chilli is also good :)

shrimp has the highest protein count of any food, but beware, they are also high in cholesterol... recommendation is to eat them after a good stern workout, they prevent that uncomfortable soreness after a really good hard workout, and by eating them right afterwards you have already burned the calories and jump started your metabolism for the day!
