Is there any ref. to such nespotism quoted in the Bible.
A sense of "Police regime" prevails within the Church and
its activites. Even anyone questioning any doing of the Pastor raises fear of being looked down by his
Junior Volunteers. The wives of Pastors are the self-appointed tale-bearers. Who is to bell the church cat?

I've heard about that happening in various areas. Religion tends to be totalitarian and many of its leaders get a false sense of power from it. This guy seems to have added in nepotism to strengthen that power.

Yet another reason why religion is bad.

i think that people sometimes surround themselves with family because that is who they know and trust. i dont know if the following examples from the bible will help but i think they will atleast go to support my initial statement. Genesis 6:18 - Abraham was to take with him onto the ark.... his wife, sons and their wives.
Exodus 4:14 - Aaron brother of Moses the prophet was appointed his right hand man (so to speak)
Matthew 4:18 - Peter and Andrew (brothers) were called to be jesus' disciples.
so maybe thats the angle the pastor was working from? have to admit though that it looks as if he got it wrong!
