Actually underarm deterant and anti-perpirant, reduce sweating and don't stop it. You would not want to stop the perpiration, its really really bad for your body.
Here is some helpful tips:
Bathe with liquid soap only, the bar soap leaves a "film" that can stain clothes. Have them exfoliate with a lite scrub (aprociat or salt) to remove excess skin. (dead skin- smells bad)
You can get a "shirt shield" its a clothe that is ironed/pressed onto the underarm part of the shirt. You can get them at Hancock Fabric or another "fabric store". I would only use them on higher quality shirts. T-shirts and such can be washed.
To get the stains out- get the area wet (warm not hot water) and presoak with liquid detergant. (overnight in the soapy water is okay) The underarm deoderant contains alchol and can ruin the coloring of clothes. So Never put these items in the dryer, until its totally cleaned out.
My husband is Italian and it a sweater. (God help the man- I love him thou!) To help we have trimmed the hair shorter in his pits, "WHY?" Hair catches the moisture and it is "wicked" away from the body and catches the fabric. So a undershirt is required, a snug white Hanes T-shirt absorbs the body stuff and it can be bleached.
Its a rule in our house, that you take off your shirt (and take it to the bathroom) and rinse the armpits in the shower that night when you are bathing. We leave a little liquid dish soap on the sink, that way the stains don't set. Throw them in the washer at bedtime.
You can tell a lot about a person by their arm pit sweat. A very healthy person will have a clean and musky smell. A sick one or toxic one will smell bad. Trust me I know- I'm in healthcare and the human body and skin is my speciality.
sorry too fast for spell check to keep up.
Have a great day.

Hi, it's not only guys that get them, women do too. Sweat glands are like any other gland, in some people they over produce.
