It is recommended that one's intake of sodium be in the range of 2400-3000 mg per day. There is no requirement for cholesterol since the body manufactures it's own. Some have set goal of consuming 200 mg of cholesterol as a maximum dietary intake to avoid hypercholeserolemia.
