My husband graduated basic and then went to AIT for about 10 days before he came home on leave. It may be something to that affect. Right now, the Army is trying different programs to find the best way to train new soldiers. He may have been picked to be involved in an extended training program.

Just remember to hang in there...the phone calls will be just like this for quite a while and sometimes not at all. The letters are short and you don't get much info from them because they are so drained when they finally get a sec to write.

My husbands basic graduation date changed twice during the course of his training even after receiving a letter from the base stating which date he would graduate. It ended up being 2 days earlier and we had to change all of our flights around. Just keep an open mind and know that you husband does not have control of any of this!

Good Luck from one who has been there!

There is no such thing as advanced boot camp. Once you enter your training facility you go to reception, usually for 1 to 2 weeks. Then you get to your training company. If they deem your unfit for training, you go back to the reception unit to the "pork chop platoon". For the over weight or un fit, i.e. cant do push-ups or run well. You can be "recycled" at any point in your training for a numerous amount of reasons. After you graduate, you go to AIT, you jobs school, kinda like the military version of on the job training. Then off to your unit. But as far as advanced boot camp, sorry never heard of it the entire 10 years i spent in the military and i was a drill Sergeant for 3 years! 2000-2003.

It could be a pilot program or something.

They are always trying to improve Basic Training by coming up with new techniques or training time lines and then sending a basic training unit through it and at the end they will see how well they do.

I don't know if that's what your husband is doing but it sounds like it.

I could title this response "Fuel or food for Thought" ,,,, His schedule is going to change each time they change his agenda ,,,, What he can or can't do depends largely on that ,,,, I will say this though and you might think it's rather harsh but then so is life this day and age,,,, But you might give this some consideration ,,,, I feel that he's made a serious mistake in your lives by joining any branch of the armed forces with an idiot like we've got now as commander and chief ,,,, It's true that Republicans don't believe in abortion ,,,, which in itself is commendable if they believed that from a humanitarian point of view ,,,, But what the people don't know is the true reason why they take this stance ,,,,To make money on a big scale you have to have a war ,,,,The bigger and longer the war the more money there is to be made ,,,, To have a war you have to have bodies ,,,, In order to have bodies you have to have babies ,,,, The corporate/republican factions will always want a crop of young ones they can draw from for some future lucrative war ,,,, Abortion interferes with that agenda ,,,, Children to them is like money in the bank ,,,, Don't fool yourself or believe their propaganda ,,,, The corporate/political factions ruling this country at the present time,,,, and in the past ,,,, and sad to say ,,,, in the future ,,,, DOES NOT CARE what they have to do or who they have to burn to get that all mighty dollar ,,,, But at the same time they make sure their own children don't have go either ,,,,, In fact our own commander and chief got out of going to Viet Nam some how ,,,, In fact his whole military career is shady ,,,, He was afraid to go himself but he's ready to send others now that he's in a position to do so ,,,,It's very easy to stand there and be brave when you are able to lead from the rear with the gear ,,,, I often wonder what they'd do if Amercans all of a sudden just stopped having babies ,,,, They are cold blooded thirsty parasitic maggots and they use the American citizen and their children as tools to attain their financial goals and Don't You Doubt That ,,,,They warp the meaning and purpose of words like ,,,, Honor ,, Duty ,, Country ,, Patriotism ,, Obligation,, and Loyalty ,,,, Don't believe me ??
