Hello, i have been given this as a college assignment, i was just wondering if i could find better answers if i asked than if i searched for hours on the net, (which is a p***ing nusiance), so please help as much as you can and i will be most greatful.

well, the army is to protect and defend the constitution of the united states against all enemies, foreign and domestic
the police is to protect and serve the citizens of the jurisdiction for which they are mandated to
however all to often the military is used as a battering ram to drive home a point rather than defend the Constitution.
and the police are seemingly more interested in covert operations than service to the people.
it seems that the police seem to forget that they are officers of the court and have to uphold the Constitution also, that would include the bill of rights.
that said, protect and serve is the order of the day as far as those two are concerned

Cops are supposed to uphold the law and protect and serve and all that and we need them, but there main function is to protect the poor from revolting and killing all the rich. Same with the army, they are the land based part of the military controlled by the king or Queen. Its to simple that why most people don't know this. The key word is "order", to basically keep us all in check and control currency(money)

The purpose of the military is to destroy the capacity of any enemy of the constitution, foreign or domestic, to make war against us. The purpose of the Police is to identify and apprehend anyone who violates the law and deliver them to the judicial system for trial and judgment. That pretty much sums it up.

Police force: take down the bad guys in the america. the army = kill the terrorists and save our azzes.
