Mossad is the Israeli intellligence service.
With Arab armies massing on their borders the Israelis conducted a preemptive attack (unlike 1973 when the waited for the Arabs to attack, which was initially disastrous), destroying the Egyptian air force on the ground and about 66% of the Syrian AF.
This allowed Israeli tank units to counterattack into the Sinai with great air support and the entire Egyptian army was encircled and routed eventually.
This allowed the Israelis to turn their attention east toward the Syria, the PLO, and Jordan as well as a supporting unit from Iraq, whom they had passively defended against while fighting the Egyptians and who had resorted to shelling Israeli population centers (sound familiar?) when ground attacks into Israel faltered. The Israeli counterattack took the West Bank and Golan Heights
This occured from 5-10 June 1967

The Mossad (Hebrew for "The Institute") is the Israeli equivalent of America's CIA.

The 6 days war was a pre-emptive strike by the Israelis to stop planned agression by Egypt.
