"Mormon" is the slang term for a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The term comes from the name of the Book of Mormon, the book that this religion claims to be a testament of Jesus Christ written by people on the American continent.

As others have indicated we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many people know us because they have seen one of our temples or a pair of our young missionaries, dressed in white shirts and ties.

we prefer latter-day-saint.... we are christians that believe in the bible and the book of mormon... and many other things. haha why do you ask
