i have this race coming up in a month i gott be ready please help!

Hot compresses and massage will work. If you're a busy person than it probably won't do any good to tell you to stay off of it...but if you can, that would help too.
If you have access to a whirlpool or a jacuzzi that would be helpful, but not everybody does.
Take Motrin for the pain and the swelling.
If exercise is a concern for you, then swim. This is a low impact form of exercise and it would probably be a good thing for your muscle.
The hardest thing about pulled muscles is the waiting period for them to heal. It takes a while and most of us don't have the patience.

Elevate your leg and put an ice pack wrapped in cloth onto it. Rest it as much as possible. When it begins to feel better(which could be up to a couple of weeks or more depending on how severe), begin by gently exercising it to bring it back to full strength. Take anti inflammatory painkillers if you are not allergic to them.
