war..good god lord, what is it good for......wasting a lot of money..?

we are spending $6,300 a second, $380,000 a minute, $6,600 per man, women, and child

3000 vets have head injuries costing $600,000 to $5 million per person lifetime care..not to mention the human cost.

Up to 67% of first gulf war vets are disabled costing 2 billion every year...

New study by Milken institute review shows costs to exceed $2 trillion.

This is four times more than giving universal health care to the uninsured would cost...

We spend 45% of our entire budget for wars past and present and for military.. Can you imagine the good all this money could do?

Can we not find a better use for this tremendous amount of money?

I was primarily focusing on the financial costs of war as I just learned of these statistics in the news[paper today.

The human costs in lives, injuries, trama, lost standng in the world, effects health wise and environmentally of depleted uranium, emotional, effect finacially and emotionally on those left behind or whose loved ones are killd or injured etc are staggering. ..People involved will carry these effects for life.

I was just focusing on financial costs in this question, not discounting the other costs.

I am overtaken with misunderstanding of this entire occupation of Iraq. It leads to nowhere!
We are the richest nation, yet have no guarantees of health care for our citizens, which should be the most basic of human rights.
I do not comprehend the willingness of the administration behind this war to sacrifice the suffering and human life for this uncertain cause.
I believe North Korea and other countries at war have somewhat been influenced by the USA resorting to such drastic of military force.
I still would like to hear more form how the IRAQI PEOPLE feel about what is being done. I know Saddam was a tyrant. why we took his butt alive, I don't know. More tax dollars spent and more conflict over his court trials.
Yes, this is both a humanitarian and fiscal disaster. I am not a radical; just observing the results of the past 5 years.

listen to this and it holds water, believe it or not during WWII Iran was an allies and was way up in the 70's, well in the 70's we had the Shaw of Iran in our pocket, but the Shaw was wealthy and the country in poverty, a civil war broke out and the Shaw fled for his life, and ever since it has been chanted Death to America!!! War is good for investors, stockholders and anyone with a 401K plan. Armament corporations, oil companies and "think tanks" have taken over leadership of this country. As long as investors' portfolios continue to grow, we will remain the most militaristic, violent nation on the planet. North Korea has correct paranoia. This seems to be govt. strategy every time a guy called Bush is in office. The govt. declares war and gets richer because they get to sell arms, they get to control oil resources. The cost of the entire shenanigan is passed on to you and me, yup that cut in our paychecks that we think is for healthcare and education blah blah, pays for all of it.

Why aren't we taking any action aganst Korea for making N. bombs? no oil in Korea, huh? Why can't we liberate all the African countries whose corrupt govt.'s are killing people by leaving them hungry and destitute? I guess nothing in it for us....
