You can sue anyone at anytime but the question is, can you win. I just love the way it's always "the cop lied" with you people. What is it about you that gives you the impression that you're important enough to be lied about? Jails are just chock full of innocent people who were lied about by cops. Yeah, right. Keep in mind that, if you are the one lying and you sue the cop, there's absolutely nothing to prevent the cop from suing you back.

Anyone can file a suit. You however have no chance of winning. 1. I doubt the sign says it is legal to double park between 11am and 1 pm, you simply got away with it. 2. Even if it did, you only know the time on your watch which may or may not be the same as official city time. The rest of your rant is just that, a rant. You showed nothing in your question that indicates the officer was racist.

You can sue for anything. If you have proof you better make sure it's going to back you 100%.
Just be ready for a counter suit. The NYPD is backed by a strong union known as the PBA. They'll be ready for anything you have to say.

You can sue anyone for anything! It dosen't mean your case will ever make it to court.
You can sue the cop. It won't do anything.
You have to sue the NYPD itself, in a civil case. Good luck, they are mush easier to win than a criminal case. Better have proof.

yes, you can file a civil law suit if it is proven he lied. If you appeal and get your case overturned on any other basis, you cannot sue him.

If they lied about a fact material to your case it's past a lawsuit, it's a crime called perjury...

Welcome to America where you can sue anybody for anything. It's whether you'll prevail or not that is the real question. In this case, I think not.

That doesn;t make much sense. You know if there was such thing as a good cop then he would arrest the bad cops......
