1. type about:config in the address bar.
2. type browser.sessionstore in the Filter: box
3. If you see an entry for browser.sessionstore.enabled, change it to false.
4. If you don't see an entry for browser.sessionstore.enabled, right click in the list area and do New->Boolean. Type in "browser.sessionstore.enabled" and set it to false.

Hope that helps!

Session restore will not be automatically enabled. It will only prompt the session restore if your browser crashes for some reason. To turn the session restore permanently on, you must go to tools>options> main> when firefox starts and select "show my windows and tabs from last time.

If you're worried about other people seeing your previously opened tabs. Select the option to clear private data when you close the browser and keep session restore disabled.

I even have the Tab blend Plus extension which has a consultation restoration function. you are able to the two save your window or once you re-open Firefox you are able to reload the final window or the previous to final. that's recommended to purpose that one?
