We used to sing a song about the Boll Weevil... it was kind of funny.. but it's never funny to find them in your foods... I hate that!
I have an aunt who used to tell me the best way to control them is to prevent them! Some airtight containers are ok... but you also might want to freeze some things... it retards the process! The other way she told me to prevent things from getting the bugs is to keep a stick of peppermint gum in your cupboards! The mint is offensive to the critters... they don't like the smell! It doesn't hurt the food at all... oh, and check your expiration dates on your boxes or containers of food when you buy them... usually if they are too old.. it's too late and they will be infested!
Just buy fresh and use it up... sometimes we keep things too long!

weevils are common in that sort of food. toss out any infested foods and seal clean stuff into airtight canisters or ziplock bags. My aunt used to ignore them and make her kids eat cereal with the bugs, ick, but it never seemed to hurt them.

Famous Boll Weevils. They are grain bugs. They are harmless.

Good luck
