Why do people say "it does not matter what is on the outside only on the inside"?

I mean have you ever seen a midget and said "hey maybe he has a good heart and personality" ... or a 100% burn victim and said "well maybe he has a good character"?

We constantly judge by what is on the outside that is why within the first five minutes you know if you want to be with them or not.... First is what they look like and then who they are...

Granted if a chick looks hot, but is 100% ditsy after you talk with them then yes you will be turned off. However, if they look like crap and are the type of person you have always wanted to be with(personality wise) you won't know because you would not give them the time of day!

because some people do look deeper than the outward appearance.

if you really get to know someone and really like who they are inside, then they can become attractive to you on the outside. obviously, this is too far over your head...

there are all kinds of personalities in this world. these are developed by your immediate environment.
it's been my experience that very attractive people have baggage just like everybody else. so many attractive people tend to be so unkind....it's the reaction that they have developed from how they've been treated. either they are conceited as hell or they carry a terrible chip on their shoulder.

i found a document ,when i was some younger , called "the desiderata". one of the passages in it went as follows: if you compare yourself to others, you will become vain and bitter for always their will be greater and lesser persons than yourself."

pretty awesome stuff. i recommend that you find the desiderata on line and see what it might have to offer you. i hope, in some way that this may contribute to your peace of mind. stay well.

People say it because they like to say nice things, its just a bit of hopeful glamour but not even close too true, looks matter just as much as anything says our body and everything else says our mind. Even if you do like an average girl for her personality, you have the risk of liking any prettier girls you meet later. Its not shallow too say looks do matter its normal, shallow is puting looks first.

My own personal experience, you look on the inside of a person,
their heart, their outlook on life, because if you just look on the outside, you might miss a terrific person in your life.

I noe that looks aren't matter in a relationship and
they don't make a relationship but they are the beginning of a relationship.U can't live with or without it.

most relationships start by physical attraction. That is basically the way you meet everyday people. Then its what is inside that decides do they stay or go.
