I think 13 is OK to date as long as that is all it is. If you re going to date just remember that boys of your age have raging hormones and you need to be carefull. Maybe take a chaperon with you or at the very least don't go anywhere too secluded.

it's not really about age as much as experience and where you are in life. If you are ready or not. The earlier you start dating the more heartache you will most likely experience. So you have to decide if you ready for that. I started dating between 15 and 16 yrs old. It's almost pointless if you don't have a car because you have to rely on your parents to take you places with the other person unless you go for some one older. but that won't go over with your parents very well. and at the age you are in, do you even know what you want in life? if so, then great for you. but how can you start dating someone if you don't know what you are looking for? you should have some idea of what you like. and even then it will change a few times. as you get older, you will learn and realize some qualities that you thought you wanted in a person, but then those may change over time. It just depends what's important to you. If they have certain interests as you, background, humor, and so on. there are a lot of things to consider like that when you date someone. you should take it somewhat serious because it's a persons heart and emotions that could get heart. let alone your own. be careful. don't just jump into dating or a relationship. it takes a lot of work. a lot of times it's just a big game especially with people your age. think about some reason why you want to date. and how it would change your life. if it's something good or bad for you. and how it will effect your relationship with your parents. because that's very important.

One’s readiness to date is based on that individual’s maturity. For example, despite being in my late teens, I’ve never been on a date. However, I am the exception, not the rule. Having worked as a counselor for your age group before, I am of the personal belief that very few – if any – thirteen year olds exist who are emotionally prepared for anything more serious than holding hands and kisses on the cheek. Perhaps you are the exception as well. I don’t know; I’ve never met you.

depends on the person. I think you pretty much need to decide yourself whether you are ready, in light of the circumstances. your parents would probably help you a great deal in arriving at a decision. Even without dating you can have great friendships.
