S & M stands for sado-masochism. also called BDSM, bondage and domination sado-masochism. It's a type of relationship where usually one partner is the "dominant" and one the "submissive", but sometimes they take turns. Usually pain is involoved in some form of another, it's completely voluntary - the dominant never forces the submissive to do something they really don't want to, that's ABUSE.

Sadists - get off by hurting other people in a sexual way
Masochists - get off by asking other people to hurt them
usually involved chains or ropes and tying the person , also also piercing the skin etc
