I welcomed them like brothers. I read the entire book searching for a way to strenghten my faith. I had nothing but good intentions. I never imagined God would reveal the truth. I speak not to glorify myself. I speak what was revealed not my own interpretation.
The abomination of dessolation that Daniel speaks of is the Mormon Church.
If you don't believe me than simply ponder on this: a good heart does good without expecting or benefiting from what it has done.
Mormons leur people in with the "family" sale slogan. You can be with your family in heaven. You can be with your husband in heaven. Wonderful thing to desire. So why do they do what they do? Bargaining with God. I will be good if you give me this. Wait, in fact, you have to give it to me because I've sealed the matrimony. So I will bargain with God.
It's already hard enough to get to heaven. Now, bargaining with a wicked, desireus, selfish heart is not of God............

But,,,,,,don't believe me......read my other

So, what exactly is your question and point?

Is it whether we think you persecute mormons? If so, then the answer is yes and it is not a very christian thing to do. You have posted a lengthy anti-mormon "question" with no other point than to criticize the LDS church. You call us the abomination of desolation. You insinuate that we lure people in with a family slogan. In so doing, you spread hate and animosity towards. So, yes, I would say that you are trying to persecute mormons.

Or is your question, why do we do what we do? This, according to you, is bargaining with God. First, we do not bargain with God so you are mis-representing us as well as trying to bash us. We simply try to keep the commandments as we understand them. God did say, if ye love me keep my commandments. Our motivation is that we love God and wish to be obedient to the laws he established there is no bargaining involved. Salvation comes through Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Speaking of commandments, since you are supposedly Christian, perhaps you should review them yourself, starting with Exodus 20:16 and Mathew 7:1: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor and Judge not that ye be not judged.

If you are Christian, perhaps you could better spend your time studying God's word or asking faith promoting questions rather than wasting everyone's time with such nonsense.

I'm a little curious as to what you think we do. I want to tell you first that the church is not a place where perfect people meet to say perfect things and think perfect thoughts. We are all human and so have the same problems and weaknesses as the rest of humanity including the ability to offend and to become offended. The gospel is perfect and we are striving to become perfect as well. Second, the Abomination of Desolations spoken of in the Bible is not the LDS Church. It was prophesied that the Abomination of Desolations would happen three times and it was referring to the destruction of Jeruselum, which, by the way, has happened twice and will happen again at some point in the future, I don't know when. If you have any other questions I will do my best to answer them.

Actually, it's called "making covenants" not bargaining...
We make a covenant and say "we will do this" in return the Lord says, "then I will do this". We have to prove first that we are willing to live HOW he wants us to...then will come the blessings. Why is it selfish to want what God has offered us? Why do you have a job? For money? You go to your job because you know you will get a paycheck.
I obey and keep the sacred covenants I have made because I KNOW the Lord will also keep his promises.

D&C 82: 10
10 I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise.

Where it says "when ye do what i say"...umm those are the commandments, covenants, all the things we do - some people refer to that as "works"...

Who wouldn't want to be with their family in the Celestial Kingdom? I know I do and I know I can, as long as I remain faithful.

mormons still get a bad rap because of their early history as pirates along the east coast. the mormon pirates were ruthless in those days and would waylay any ship they could find, steal the cargo, make the men walk the plank and take the women as 2nd and 3'rd and sometimes even 4th wives.

the continental congress put a stop to that and authorized several warships to capture and rid the world of the evil mormon pirates. after a long chase the mormon pirates were finally defeated and captured.

they were then exiled to utah---that being as far away from the sea as possible back then. they were left alone out there to marry many wives and do whatever it is they do---except for pirating.

Hebrews 12: 14 pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.

Jesus told us to "go into all the world and tell/preach the good news. If they choose to accept it, then they shall receive the blessings of god, if not then pray for them, it's not up to us to condemn them. (an occasional joust is to learn from each other) in my opinion, if you're not picked on, (though some tend to take it to the extreme), you're not loved.

Mormons are a strange bunch! They amount to nothing more than a cult as when we read the Bible it becomes clear that they are totally "off line" and are to be avoided as the Bible warns that in the last days people would depart from the truth and follow false doctrine none of which can save any one. The only way for a person to get to heaven is to simply trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior and he will do the rest. Tragically there are so many religions today all of whom will claim to that they have a way for people to get to heaven and reading the Bible very quickly exposes these false teachings. The real "key" to salvation is total faith in Jesus and once you have trusted him by simple child like faith to save you then the Bible declares you to be forgiven of all sin and you are "sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption" (Ephesians Ch.4 V30) There is definately no works on our part in order to appropriate Gods plan of salvation for you as all the work necessary to save us was performed by God through Jesus Christ. Just trust him now and you have eternal life instantly and can never loose it!

The Mormons are good people but they are mislead. They believe that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers ,that people became Black because they stayed neutral in the war between Jesus and Lucifer. They say if you follow all the rules you can be a God and have your own planet to rule. They wouldn't let blacks be in the "Priesthood" until they recruited so many black Brazilians they had to have a "Revelation" or else lose all that money. This is just the tip of the iceberg if you will.Great folks ,I might even vote for Romney if he ran for President, but they are not Christians...It's the skin of the truth stuffed with a lie.
