wat do i do to actually eat the thing..??

First let me say lucky, You have a prickly pear or in Spanish, tuna. They are quite delectable. To eat them peel off the outer skin and then slice and eat or don't slice, yes you eat the seeds. Hot or cold, you are one lucky person. We have them here in California and I eat them regularly.

You eat the seeds, too. But make sure the fruit is ripe. Its skin should be red/yellowish externally. If you're based in Europe you're getting the end of the season...

I've tried two in my life. They taste like a watermelon that is more seed than fruit. My advice? Don't bother.
