I believe the day Christians and Atheists can admit they both are "beliefs" and not facts, then they will finally have equality and peace. Oh, and that goes for ALL beliefs. What do you think?

It's impossible. Christians think that their god punishes all of society for the "sins" of others. As long as they think that they will continue to try to conform society to their beliefs.

I am an Atheist. My belief is based on facts. Facts according to science. Facts in relation to what is going on in the world around me. I don't believe that Christians and Atheist can get along. I personally believe that religion divides the world and holds back progress. How much money could be spent on science, medical research and helping the poor if it were not for religious wars and country conquering country in the name of thier beliefs. There have been genocides and torture done in the name of religion. I would however leave them alone if they would leave everyone else alone. Most Atheist or Agnostic people have a live and let live attitude but not the religious. They think everyone has to be like them or else..........

Atheism doesn't entail a belief. If we could have conversation I'd explain it more deeply but just think about it really hard and you'll get it. But yes we can, I get along with people from every religion I've met so far, I just don't talk about religion haha. I'm a big Operation Ivy fan and if you know them their whole message is about unity and whatnot. But a debate, no matter how heated, really constitutes a serious divide. Good luck.

It's possible to get along in spite of differences in beliefs. If we all had to share all the same beliefs before we could live in peace, there would be no more than 1 living human.

Sure we can.

I have two best friends and all three of us get along great.
I'm the Christian
best friend one is atheist
best friend two is wiccan

sometimes we agree, sometimes we agree to disagree. But most of the time we don't talk about religion. We did more a few years ago. We all agree that our beliefs are real to us and that is what matters. Faith is something you can't explain to someone who doesn't really share your beliefs.

We just have to be careful not to talk about religion or the afterlife. I think some people are scared by atheists because they don't understand that it is not about the forces of good and evil, but of nothing at all. Nothing on my shoulder's. Good, right...left, bad! We have to stop being afraid of each other. Above all, if a person is worth keeping as a friend, they must be respected.

It goes deeper than you think. the "True" Christians in the States are every bit as bad as the Taliban. And if the Atheists look at the history of the Christians and get a bit annoyed at having their ancestors burned at the stake it is hard to argue. But the atheists are not just trying to save Christians. They are trying to wake up all the people still trapped in Sky God cults.

Let's see...you have a "True" Christian (not many of them around, but a lot of false ones), then you have an Atheist??? Hmmmm, that's a no brainer. What does the darkness have in common with the light? What does the evil doer have in common with a person who loves what is good, what is decent and God-fearing?

A Christian and an Atheist co-exist but for a "true" Christian to wear the suit of armor to protect him/herself from being totally consumed by the non-believers who are also imperfect ones acting on their own understanding, the association isn't beneficial for the Christian.

An Atheist believes in him/herself and satan loves it because he has them believing this way whether they want to believe it or not; he's got them roped and hog-tied for the gutting.

A "true" Christian will not behave like the rest of the world, and you will be able to see the difference between one like this versus persons who falsely claim to be Christians, and Atheists also.

About 88 to 90% of the world won't get this and will argue instead of realizing the truth.

Yes, they can get along. So long as they both realize the only commandment we'll ever need.

Keep thine own religion (or lack thereof) to thineself. But I don't think the religions (especially the Christians) would be able to bear that philosophy.

No, they are completely incompatible. Only watered-down Christians will ever get along with atheists and vice versa.
If you are a TRUE Christian you must believe that Atheists are heathens.
If you are a TRUE atheist you must beleive that all Christians are suckers.
