The two cannot go together. If he was religious, then he was superstitious--and thus, not intellectual.

Confiucus was a great intellectual,who is a great teacher that taught.Although he is a very learned man,he is very humble.He e not even shame to ask a kid about something.He was an intellectual and don't believe in superticious.

he taught many good things about humanity, and may be a prophet too, along with buddha Gautama and Zarathustra. i consider Confucius as a great teacher.
