But aren't these people sinning - worshipping a false idol?
You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
If I pray to Jesus, and then imagine the sparkling white baby JC am I sinning? LOL

I don't think they "adorn" Jesus with Christmas balls or fancy baby doll jewelry. This is where you can "adorn" Jesus:

Well, I don't think people are worshipping a "false" idol. I believe Jesus was real. But I agree 100% that there's no way Jesus is depicted accurately. He was not white; couldn't have been based on geography.

The Catholic portrait of Christ was actually started by the painter Michaelangelo in the 15th century. He was a devout Catholic. He's the one that painted Jesus that way. He's the first person to ever portray Jesus like that. Kind of funny how people think that that's what Jesus actually looks like. Jesus was Jewish, and he followed the jewish customs. Chances are his skin was of an olive complexion, and his hair short. No one knows what Jesus looks like.

Just because Europeans tend to portray Christ as white doesn't mean the rest of the world does. Interestingly, Jesus tends to be portrayed as black in black nations and even as oriental in oriental cultures.
And any serious reflection on the theology of the Incarnation would probably suggest that this is a good thing.

You are not very clear in your question but I am thinking you are speaking of a caucasian or aryan jesus which wouldn't reflect an image accurate to the area he was native to. If you think of anything visual pertaining to biblical descriptions and picture them in your mind is that a graven image? What people try to interpret in statues, paintings, etc. are they not just what we visualize in our minds. Because they are interpreted in a material way are they really any different than what is envisioned in our dreams or in our minds? This is one of the things that make christianity and all religions laughable because these things are obviously not thought out by a god but by confused ancient people who had alot of time on their hands and wrote it down and called it the word of a god of which supposedly guided their hand to write such jibberish. I really don't think any god would be worried about such trivial matters. These were surely issues a man thought of that would be important to a god man invented. These are the telltale signs the bible is just fantasy written to empower people to manipulate other people for earthly motives.

There is no true image (pictures) of God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit for that very reason. (Idol worship)

Images of Jesus are not Idols, we do not worship them. They are used to help focus our prayers to Jesus by centering our minds on something that brings him to mind.

If Jesus existed it's impossible for him to have been white.
Simple geography should explain that to any "christian" but for some reason, it doesn't.
