Yes, there are many reports of small children spontaneously recalling a past life, not as anyone famous, but as regular people. They will describe what they did when they were "big", such as where they lived, what they owned, what they did for a living, and sometimes talk about people they knew.
Over time, this may become more of a fantasy world for a child, with the people they knew becoming accepted as imaginary friends.
There are instances where it is claimed a reincarnated child has the same habits as the deceased person, or a birthmark associated with the deceased.

People won't remember anything because often the last life was traumatic, and it would send them absolutely mental to know the things that happened to them. Besides, we have no use for knowing what happened in our past lives when we have this one to live in. Otherwise we would get very confused.
If you can find it, get the book called Phenomenon, by Sylvia Browne. It is very descriptive, easy to read, and explains a LOT about things like that. She is a respected author for those things, and it isn't complete bullsh*t like most people write.

Sure but most would be very vague memories, the soul has evolved. The memories could come back more vividly if it imposes some type of spiritual growth. Meditate.

You can't remember anything, but it has made you the person you are in this life. However, you can go into a past life regression meditation and learn who you were. Even more than one life.

I know a women who is so into this that she's 62 and is going back to college so in her next life she will be that much farther. It's all nonsense

You don't remember specific events and you don't have specific memories, but you have taken with you the lessons you learned in your past life. You spirit has developed through each life...so you have a more developed, older spirit but not specific memories.
