the difference is this, evolution i based on facts. that is it was a theory developed to explain observations made by Darwin that has later been proven about as well as possible given that we don't have access to a time flux capacitor. On the other hand most people come into religion because of tier parents or because of the bible in either case this is simply people believing what other people tell them. The only real proof for G-d that exists right now is that some people who wrote a book a long time ago said so.

the bottom line is that to the evolutionists the burden of proof is on the theists because evolution is as proven as can be and G-d is the thing that needs updated evidence.

ok i will prove happiness
when things that feel good happen to us, our brains release serotonin, this makes us feel happy. The end.

if you want something more philosophical, i am sorry but you really can't prove happiness exists any mor than you can prove that I exist. But I can tell you that happiness is an extremely consistent emotional state that is nearly identical across all cultures and there are things that make nearly all human beings feel happy. contrast that with religion, there are hundreds f religions some very different and there are almost no consistencies throughout any of them other than belief in supernatural events.

You can prove evolution. You can't disprove evolution.

You can't prove God. You can't disprove God.

You can't prove that the world was made by a flying spaghetti monster. You can't disprove that the world was made by a flying spaghetti monster.

The difference in between evolution and creation by God, is that evolution can be proven. Even the Catholic church accepts this.

The difference in between creation by God and creation by the Flying Spaghetti Monster, is that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is cooler.

I love the way you apply circular logic. It's supposed to make it look like the individuals who apply scientific means to their proofs can't really prove anything.
We, meaning human beings, can make species better by breeding specific characteristics to make them better suited for whatever purpose we, meaning humans, decide is what we want for them. You would have me believe that your god isn't smart enough to do the same thing. I think my favorite argument is that we haven't found many transitionary animals to step up to the state we're in now. Hello, I'd be willing to bet that you can't find every dog breed that has been manipulated since humans started domesticating these creatures. If indeed everything your god supposedly created was already at it's highest level, and didn't need to evolve, why aren't they still around? Where are the horses of 10000 years ago, if they were perfect already, shouldn't they still be here instead of the new and improved versions we have now. Breeding racehorses to make them stronger and faster is simply kicking normal evolution in the pants. Do you believe that evolution occurs in bacteria? Or viruses? If not, then maybe you'll be ok with 25 year old medications. If you believe that bacteria and viruses evolve, at what level did your god put on the brakes? I'd be very interested in a detailed chart of what things do evolve, and what don't.

I am an atheist. I think your premise is 100% correct. The problem is that Science has proven that evolution is a fact, but creationists refuse to believe the proof, and put forth enough propaganda against evolution that people like yourself think that evolution is not proven.

By the way, the difference between the human brain and the brains of chimpanzees and apes is actually quite small. We have a larger neocortex than they do. Much larger. But the structure of the neocortex is the same throughout the entire neocortex. It's a very general purpose auto-associative hierarchical memory system. If chimpanzees and apes had more neocortex, they would probably have the same intellectual potential that we do.

It is not a good response and I think it is our of frustration of being asked the same question again and again.

Evolution has been proven and reproven in many different fields of science.

It does not have any connection of whether god or other metaphysical events exist. There is no way to prove them as they have not been recorded by any measurable means. Only by people's personal experiences. I don't believe that every person who has had an experience is crazy or hallucinating myself but that does not undermine evolution or science.

In science you will consider an event uncertain if you cannot prove or disprove it. Someone who is an atheist is basically wrong from scientist's point of view.
The burden is on the one claiming something is true or false.

Evolution is the best conjecture given all the evidence.
A rational man should not ignore evidence.

Why can't you, say, believe that God exists and to create us in this present form he used evolution as tool?

Atheists cannot explain the Big Bang, the causes of it.
Even though evidence points to all matter in the universe coming from a single point, noone can explain why this is so.

So, it seems a pretty good idea to me to assume God made Big Bang, and has been controlling the universe in his own way invisible to humans ever since.

you won't be able to disprove evolution, considering's stated actuality. each and every flu season, a number of of recent version of the flu virus ravages the worldwide. it rather is evolution in action, at present and honestly stated. To disprove creationism, only take any of their strange statements and notice it with a critcal eye. Shouln't take a variety minutes to work out why that's of course incorrect.

Evolution is a theory not a law. Laws are proven, theories are tested. Yes you can test evolution working every time they have to update a vaccination for the same virus. And I wouldn't say that if you asked me to prove God didn't exist haha. I don't know who says that. I'd just say you can't disprove without evidence in the first place, just like you can't disprove that my imaginary friend is talking to me right now.

To ckrug, we didn't evolve from monkeys, that seems to be a common misconception. Monkeys and men evloved from a common primate ancestor, which all other species do, nothing special at all. Hope that helps.

Yes the burdon is upon anyone to prove what they belive is fact. Evolution has had thousands of scientific articles and papers published showing how it works and evidence of its existence. I have never seen a scientifically based article or paper on the existence of God. FYI, people saying they saw God or had a vision falls into the faith catagory, which I respect, but is not science. Science requires reproducable results which are observable and recordable in some way. Faith is great, but it is not science. God may have made us, but if he did, he made us want proof.

Okay, if fossils, skeletons, and carbon dating, which are tangible things right in front of your face (I don't care how high up your nose is) doesn't prove anything to you, I might as well be trying to prove evolution to a monkey.

EDIT: It's already been proven how the brain has evolved, but you have failed to research anything you wish to challenge.
