In the beginning God shaped dust and blew into this mold the breath of life, and man became a living soul. Soul is simply a word used to describe a living being. It is not an immortal entity that floats around endlessly. A soul is created and a soul dies (see Ezekiel: the soul that sins will die). So when a sperm joins an egg a the union becomes a living soul, and when that being dies, that soul dies.

I believe that God created the universe with many millions of little natural laws under which it operates. The whole system is self-regulating and requires no daily tinkering from him.

For those who want to blame him for not taking action in their lives by preventing violence (the twin towers) or illness (cancer) I remind you that these are the result of human actions. The terrorist attacks were human actions. The people who committed those actions were reacting to their perception of other human actions. Cancers, in many cases, are the result of poor lifestyle choices.

Even when one suffers from disease through no fault of their own, I would suggest they put too much importance on that physical suffering. Even if the body should suffer and die, the immortal soul lives on. The death of the body is meaningless to it and the suffering they lived through on Earth was perhaps required for them to learn a lesson they needed to know.

Lips say God be merciful that never said God be praised.

He gives life - body, mind and spirit.
Breathlessly, no. He is greater then we are and the author of life - I am sure it gives him joy but we cannot know his mind.
